Sedalia, Colorado local business man C.A. Johnson became notorious as the owner of Cherokee Ranch and owner/developer of the famous Cherokee Ranch Castle which is still a popular tourist attraction today.

In 1935 C.A. Johnson sold the plot of land that is home to the Sedalia Grill to a man named Joe Johnson. Joe Johnson and wife Ruth went on to build the original Johnson's Corner which was a successful full service gas station for many years.

Over the years Johnson's Corner changed hands and eventually became the Sedalia Grill. In 1993 the Sedalia Grill was purchased by its current owner of 17 years Jody Johnson.

The ironic part to this story is that there is no family relationship between any of these three Johnson men – simply coincidence.
